   Superstar Rajinikanth is once again made himself busy with the shooting of his new project. This movie is titled as “Linga” in the direction of K.S.Ravi Kumar, that has of late started a while ago in Mysore. In this movie, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty are slated as the female lead roles while Rajinikanth to play a dual role in this movie. Sonakshi Sinha, the Bollywood actress who is one among the heroines in the “Linga” movie seems to be superlatively happy with this offer getting her way. She expressed her happiness by saying this way- “It feels great to be a part of a Tamil film and I couldn’t have asked for a better debut. I started my Bollywood career with Salman Khan and in Tamil, I’ve done it with the Superstar himself! It is definitely a Dabangg entry for me!”

   
   

   Rajinikanth’s Linga Story

   While she was expressing her happiness, she also revealed the story-line of this movie a bit. She said this way- “The story, we hear, is spread across two generations and Sonakshi will be a part of the former one. She says, “I am part of the 1940s generation and I play a girl who helps Rajinikanth. The look and the setting are completely new and I am quite kicked about my part.” We have to wait and see how will this movie is going to be, as Rajini is going to reprise in two roles. Meanwhile his latest movie “Kochadaiiyaan” is slated to hit the theaters on 9th of May.

   Casting
   In April 2014, Sonakshi Sinha had confirmed her involvement in the project, stating that she would play a village girl who helps Rajinikanth's character in the film. In late April 2014, Telugu actor Jagapati Babu confirmed on his Facebook page that he was signed on for a role in the film. Sudeep was reported to have refused an important role in the film, but he however denied being approached for the film in the first place. Further, reports circulated again in August 2014 which strongly suggested Sudeep was a part of the cast as he was seen during the canning of the climax portions but he clarified that he wasn't offered a role in the film yet. Comedian Santhanam joined the team in May 2014. Actors Radha Ravi, Vijayakumar and R. Sundarrajan were called up to play important roles in the film.
   
   British actress Lauren J. Irwin was selected to appear in the pre-independence portions of the film.American actor, director and writer William Orendorff was selected to play a key role in the film and furthermore, confirming his involvement in the project through Twitter. Anushka Shetty joined the unit for shooting her portions in the film on 27 June 2014. Sonakshi Sinha, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, said that there are two different tracks of filming scenes, and that Anushka Shetty and her will not share much screen space and was given liberty to pick up the role she felt suitable for her.[11] In June 2014, actor Karunakaran was selected to play a supporting role.[23] Actor Dev Gill was selected to play a secondary antagonist role.[24] Director and comedian Manobala confirmed that he would appear in a small yet significant role as a train driver.[25] Tollywood comedianBrahmanandam was selected to portray the role of a police officer.[26] Actor Prabhu Ganesan will do a cameo appearance in the film.[27] Actresses Trisha Krishnan andNayanthara were rumored to perform an item number, but the latter's inclusion remained unconfirmed and the former denied the news saying that she was never approached.
